Nagayu CO2 Skin Therapy Treatment

Here you can see Pip enjoying her first ‘Nagayu CO2 Skin Therapy Treatment‘ :

Nagayu?

The ‘Nagayu CO2 Skin Therapy Treatment‘ takes it’s inspiration from the world renowned carbonated Hot Springs found at the village of Nagayu in Southern Japan. The warm carbonated water of the hot springs has been found to improve blood circulation (without raising blood pressure) and therefore is a successful treatment for numerous skin conditions.

The science behind the Nagayu Hot Springs has been used to create the ‘Nagayu CO2 Skin Therapy Treatment‘ which is available here at Bark’n’ Bubbles!

To recreate the hot springs we use a special shower head which contains a dissolvable tablet consisting of Carbon Dioxide, hydrogen and bicarbonate. We use this during the rinse following the shampoo. Ions are released into the water as the tablet dissolves. When the body absorbs the bicarbonate ions the blood circulation and oxygen absorption increases. When the oxygen is absorbed the bicarbonate ions and carbon dioxide is excreted from the body as waste products. This process maintains the pH of the blood and the skin.
